Physical Therapy is a vital component in the healing process temporary or permanent disabilities. Traditionally PT was only offered as a form of rehabilitation after surgery. Now physicians will make a referral for a number of medical issues such as strokes, birth defects and following injury or illness. After a consultation with the referring physician, an appropriate rehabilitation plan is developed and tailored to each individuals needs. At Cypress Creek Therapy we believe in manual techniques, it is what makes us unique. Personalized, "one on one", therapy has created proven results for our patients time and time again.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is an aggressive treatment aiding in restoring useful physical functionality following disabling accidents and sickness. The main goal of OT is to work with the patient so that they may reach the highest level of independent function.
Candidates for Occupational Therapy include people suffering form strokes, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, arthritis and other similar conditions. Consult your physician to see if you can benefit from OT. The primary function of OT is to have the patient get involved in therapeutic activities that are fun and simultaneously improve daily function.
Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic Therapy is a Gravity-reduced exercise. This concept allows patients to gain results in a less strenuous environment. Conditions that could improve from this from of therapy include, but are not limited to, arthritis, fibromyalgia, chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, Stroke/CVA and other conditions requiring direct therapy supervision.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy is the corrective or rehabilitative treatment of physical and/or cognitive disorders resulting in difficulty with verbal communication. ST provides treatment for a variety of disorders such as impaired articulation, stuttering and language/voice impairment that may affect a person's educational performance. This includes speech articulation, intonation, rate and intensity as well as language concepts like syntax and morphology. Depending on the nature and severity of the disorder, common treatments may range from physical strengthening exercises, instructive or repetitive practice and drilling, to the use of audio-visual aids.
Massage Therapy
Massage is the practice of applying pressure or vibration to the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, and joints. As form of therapy, massage can be applied to parts of the body or successively to the whole body, to heal injury, relieve psychological stress, manage pain, improve circulation and relieve tension.
Hand Therapy
Hand Therapy is a form of occupational therapy for issues pertaining to the hand. Syndromes that may improve while in treatment include carpal tunnel, tendonitis and nerve compression. The therapist may treat with exercises; customize splinting, or massage if edema is present.
